It was a real struggle at first but what I have done:Ģ. I have Windows 8 64-bit (not 8.1).Īt first I received the AMD driver crashes also. I have the DK2 working on my laptop (HP Pavilion DV7 i7) with switchable graphics / dual GPU: Intel HD & Radeon 6770M 2GB with the use of the onboard HDMI port. I hope someone else might have encountered something similar and knows what's going on. I'm not sure what to dig up and list but I can respond with any stats you need. I haven't been able to track down actual logs on what's happening. There is a balloon message that just states that my display driver has died and recovered. My machine locks up, screen goes black, and if i'm lucky, it comes back 5-10 seconds later. Now, i'll just be using my computer, surfing the internet for example. It's usually not related to actually running an Oculus prorgram, but I just know that installing the Oculus is responsible, twice now. I haven't discovered any link to what i'm doing when the driver crashes. The exact same thing is happening at a slower (still unreasonable) frequency. I reinstalled clean and after a week of my PC running smoothly, I finally reinstalled the rift runtime. It made windows completely unusable, and I finally had to resort to installing windows. My AMD display driver was constantly failing (every 5 seconds) after installing the Rift runtime. I encountered problems with my right after receiving my DK2 about two weeks ago.
